Navigational App for Brigham and Women’s Hospital

Anchor 1
Objectives
Create a desktop application that can assist patients and staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in navigating the campus.
Outcomes and Contributions
Many departments at Brigham and Women’s Hospital were moving to different locations. Hospital leadership needed an app that helps patients easily navigate the hospital, and gives staff the ability to make updates to the digital map as departments are relocated. I worked with my team of 10 to complete the hospital’s requirements in the position of Product Owner. In this role, I led daily scrum meetings to ensure each group member was on track to complete their tasks. In addition to this role, I worked on front-end development, including the login screen, the home screen, the kiosk display and setup screens, and the data import/export tool. My team and I presented our app to some hospital executives, who were impressed by our ideas and implementation.
Technical Details

Depending on the type of user logged in, (maintenance, admin, or employee), the home screen will adapt to show relevant features. On the kiosk setup and display screen, hospital administrators can configure and display a kiosk screen that can be mirrored to screens around the hospital, assisting patients in navigating the hospital. Finally, the import/export screens let administrators upload or download all mapping data. Important documentation detailing additional features of the app can be found below.
